Bio

Kelly McDonald is an artist living in Montréal Québec.  Her paintings revolve around the notions of deconstruction, of breaking down an image and slowly rebuilding it; playing with the ideas of memory and awareness.   Her inspiration starts with an  image-sometimes a photograph; of places she has visited or would like to.  They are images that have grabbed her attention by either their vibrant colours, complex composition or even just their simple natural beauty.  She then tries to recapture these landscapes by breaking them down into many layers of shapes and form and reconstructing them into something new and transformed.
